Thanksgiving! (and Christmas)
One of the most fabulous parts of going abroad is discovering and enjoying new traditions—in Italy, this means Carnival, la Befana, Easter like nobody else does it, and of course zampone. But of course being abroad always takes you away from your own traditions, and this is the hard part. Sometimes, though, holidays can be saved, and that's what happened last Friday in Milan. American chefs Diana and Clelia (the hostess) cooked up a mean turkey with all the fixins, and after Clelia and Emanuele hacked away at the bird for a bit, we chowed down! We were in 14 all together. More thanks, gals, for the wonderful Thanksgiving spread!
The next pictures are from Pavia at night. The city is now looking at its Christmas best with holiday lights hanging from most prominent streets. Still waiting on the Christmas tree though!
